Terms of Service

The agreement between you and PocketClients when you use the app.

Acceptance of Terms

PocketClients is a mobile CRM app that helps owner-operators manage clients, appointments, reminders, invoices, quotes, and expenses. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and PocketClients.

By downloading, signing in to, or using the app, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use PocketClients. If you use the app on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorized to accept these Terms for that business.

Account Terms

To use PocketClients you must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. The app is intended for business use by owner-operators and small businesses, not for personal or consumer use.

You sign in using your phone number and a one-time verification code (OTP) delivered through Firebase Authentication. You are responsible for:

  • Keeping access to your phone number and device secure
  • All activity that happens under your account
  • The accuracy of the client, appointment, and billing information you enter
  • Ensuring you have the right to store and message the contacts you add

If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, contact us right away so we can help secure it.

Your Data and Content

You own the data you put into PocketClients — your clients, appointments, messages, invoices, quotes, expenses, and attachments. We do not claim ownership of it.

Most of your data is stored locally on your device, and only a limited amount is synced to the cloud for account integrity. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what we store and share. You grant us the limited permission needed to process and transmit your data solely to operate the features you use — for example, sending an SMS through Twilio or an email through your chosen provider.

You are responsible for keeping your own backups of important data. Because your data lives primarily on your device, uninstalling the app or losing your device may permanently delete it.

Subscription and Billing

PocketClients offers a free trial and paid subscription plans. Your trial start date is recorded so the trial is applied correctly even if you reinstall the app.

Paid subscriptions and any in-app purchases (such as SMS credit top-ups) are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play and managed using RevenueCat. By subscribing, you agree to the following:

  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel beforehand.
  • You can cancel anytime in your App Store or Google Play account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
  • Payments, renewals, and refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their terms. We generally cannot issue refunds directly — refund requests must go through the store you purchased from.
  • Prices and plan features may change; we will give reasonable notice of changes before they affect your next renewal.

If a subscription lapses or a payment fails, paid features (including SMS sending) may be limited or paused until billing is resolved.

SMS and Messaging Policy

PocketClients lets you send appointment reminders, follow-ups, and custom messages to your clients by SMS (delivered through Twilio) and by email (through your own configured email provider). Messaging is a powerful feature, and you are responsible for using it lawfully and respectfully.

When you send messages through PocketClients, you agree that:

  • You have the recipient's consent to contact them, and a genuine business relationship with them.
  • You will honor opt-out and unsubscribe requests promptly and stop messaging anyone who asks you to.
  • You will comply with all applicable laws and carrier rules, including anti-spam and telemarketing regulations such as Canada's CASL, the U.S. TCPA and CAN-SPAM Act, and equivalent rules in your region.
  • You will not send spam, bulk unsolicited marketing, or any unlawful, deceptive, or harmful content.

Messaging is subject to monthly quotas to keep the service reliable and prevent abuse. Your SMS usage is tracked against these limits. We may rate-limit, suspend, or terminate messaging features if we detect abuse, spam, or activity that puts our carrier relationships at risk. You are solely responsible for the content of every message you send.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse PocketClients. In particular, you will not:

  • Use the app for any illegal, fraudulent, or harmful purpose, or to harass or deceive anyone
  • Send spam or message people without their consent
  • Attempt to circumvent usage quotas, billing, or access controls
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except where the law expressly permits it
  • Interfere with, overload, or disrupt the app or the third-party services it relies on
  • Resell, sublicense, or provide the app as a service to third parties without our permission
  • Upload or store content you do not have the right to use

Third-Party Services

PocketClients depends on third-party services to deliver certain features — including Twilio for SMS, Firebase for authentication and cloud sync, RevenueCat and the app stores for billing, and your own email provider for email sending. Your use of those features may also be subject to those providers' terms.

We are not responsible for outages, delivery failures, or changes in third-party services that are outside our control, though we work to keep the app running reliably.

Intellectual Property

PocketClients, including the app, its software, design, logos, and the “PocketClients” and “PocketPages” names and marks, is owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for your own business while these Terms are in effect.

This license does not transfer any ownership to you. You keep ownership of your own data and content, as described in “Your Data and Content” above.

Disclaimer of Warranties

PocketClients is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every message, reminder, or backup will be delivered or preserved. PocketClients is a tool to help you run your business — it is not a substitute for your own records, legal, tax, or accounting advice.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PocketClients will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost business, or lost or corrupted data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the amount you paid us for PocketClients in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Termination

You can stop using PocketClients at any time. You can delete your account from within the app, which removes your authentication record and cloud-synced data from our servers, and uninstalling the app removes the data stored locally on your device.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, misuse the messaging features, or use the app in a way that harms others or our service providers. When access ends, your license to use the app ends, and any data stored only on your device remains your responsibility to retain or export beforehand.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree that any dispute relating to these Terms or the app will be handled by the courts located in Ontario, Canada.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and notify you in the app or by other reasonable means. Continuing to use PocketClients after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
